3 Easy-To-Do Ideas For Kids Scrapbooks

One of the joys of working on a scrapbook project is being able to share your work with others, aside from the personal enjoyment of letting your creativity flow through your work and being able to express your soul and emotions in every page. Furthermore, you can also let others join in the fun of creating scrapbooks while sharing your works of art!

When you're working on a scrapbook project, why not let the kids join in? Children love trying out new things, and they are naturally curious about everything they see. Let them to explore new ways to show their creativity and have fun at the same time by teaching them about scrapbooking and letting them create some pages of their own.

However, some parents may not like the idea of letting their kids loose on their scrapbooking supplies, even though they may agree that scrapbooking can provide great benefits for kids. It's perfectly understandable to get concerned, because some of those scrapbooking supplies can cost quite a bundle, aside from the real possibility of the kids leaving a mess.

But there are many ways to let them enjoy scrapbooking and explore without the problems I have mentioned above, so that doesn't mean that your kids will have to be left out. And if you're looking for ways to get your kids involved with scrapbooking, here are 3 easy and inexpensive scrapbooking ideas that you can use:

1. Cutouts - There are lots of scrapbook kits and templates that use cutouts, whether for embellishments, borders, or patterns. If your kids know how to use a pair of scissors, then they can easily cut out these elements and attach them to the scrapbook pages using glue sticks or other child-friendly adhesives. You can also give some templates to your kids and let them cut out the designs from cardstock or construction paper.

2. Stickers - Using stickers for kids' scrapbooking activities lets them enjoy a wide variety of colors and shapes without creating a mess from markers, inks, and paints. There are hundreds of stickers in a wide assortment of themes - from food, nature, movies, space, sports, TV shows, and almost everything in between.

They can use stickers to attach pictures or embellish the borders of a frame or even an entire page. Plus, if you already have a sticker printer, you can easily print out stickers using their own pictures.

3. Coloring Books - You don't even have to buy new coloring books for your kids to make scrapbooks of; just dig up those old ones that they are finished with and let them cut out the pictures. Some coloring books have the letters of the alphabet printed inside, so your kids can also use these letters for decorating their scrapbook pages.

If the paper from the cutout coloring books is too thin, your kids can use them as templates for cardstock or other thicker paper. Better yet, why cut out some portions of the coloring book when you can use the entire page? Use it as the background and let your kids put some embellishments on it as they desire.
